Stargate Nova is a unique Christian epic symphonic melodic metal project with a grasp on diverse music elements including soaring vocals and neoclassical guitar playing, working these elements with other great talent all around. It is written by neoclassical/melodic metal composer, vocalist, and guitarist, Jakob von Feldern.
Birth of the Symphony
Around April of 2005, several friends from school got together to form a band called Stargate. After a minor dispute in musical style, two left the project, while Jakob and the friend that remained continued to want to make a band. After some time, the other friend left for personal reasons - leaving just Jakob, with ideas but no music.
Some time had passed before it was turned into a solo project. Along the way, the idea for the style of music that would be played had changed quite often. Starting out, the project was going to play epic theatrical metal like Rhapsody of Fire, but then evolved into progressive metal the likes of Seventh Wonder or Dream Theater. Then it finally evolved to what Jakob describes as "unique music undefined by any one genre or style": a mix of various different genres, with the strongest focus on melodic and symphonic metal.
In 2010, Jakob decided to turn the project into his solo project. Taking the name Stargate Nova, he set out to create music unlike any other, being influenced by his favorite bands and musicians, while adding unique musical elements here and there.

Today
Ideas, ideas, ideas... Jakob has many different ideas for a debut release, but he lacks the resources necessary to bring forth what he has in his mind.
What would Stargate Nova's style sound like? Perhaps you can describe it as a combination of Theocracy and Avantasia with a touch of Luca Turilli-esque neoclassical songwriting and guitar playing.
